Did you see these wonderful statements agianst Dilum Amunugama? Liyanage Amarakeerthi

After I got back from my early morning gardening activities, I imagined to today to be the first of April, and I just had the vision of following paragraphs:

* Kandy district parliamentarian Dilum Amunugama's statement that his boss, president Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, possesses all the attributes required to become a Hitler has angered many people all over the island. The parliamentarian's comments that he expects his boss's Hitlerian qualities to be more pronounced in the remainder of his presidency has been seen as alarming, uncivilized, and, simply, stupid. So far, the statement has triggered following reactions from a diverse group of people and institutions:

* Trinity College, Kandy, one of the most renowned colonial schools in the country and the alma mater of idiotic parliamentarian has issued a statement that the college is deeply saddened and ashamed by its former student's admiration of Hitler. "The goal of education," the college said, "is to prevent anyone like Hitler coming into power anywhere in the world ever again. " The college pleaded to the public not to assume that the parliamentarian's thoughts on political pow   After I got back from my early morning gardening activities, I imagined to today to be the first of April, and I just had the vision of following paragraph:er have ever been resulted from anything in the college's curriculum. Even though one may find evidence of anti-Semitism in the history of the Church of England and Christian religious establishment, the TCK has been has had no role in making Mr. Amunugama a Nazi."

* The main Buddhist temples at Kandy immediately denounced Mr. Amunugama's statement. After many years of political violence, the Buddhist statements pointed out,  the country has no need of a Hitler-like leader. Chief prelates at the two temples jointly requested Mr. Amunugama to make a public apology without being an apologist for Nazim. Both statements contained extremely evocative Pali verses to demonstrate the lord Buddhit never advocated a Hilter-like leaders. If there were any such leader the Buddha always tamed them.

* The Vice Chancer of the University of Peradeniya, the largest university in the county located in Mr. Amunugama's hometown issued the most elegant public condemnation expressing a sense of betrayal and helplessness that the university felt on hearing the parliamentarian's adoration of Hitlerian qualities. "I am deeply saddened, " the vice chancellor said, " that a fascist politician has risen from the vicinity of our university where students are regularly taught to discover and respect universal humanity." The vice chancellor's erudite statement went onto elaborate on the true goals of 21st century education, and in the peaceful future those educational goals envision, there is no room for a Hitler.

* Derana TV channel, always known for its learned cosmopolitanism, was the first among media institutions to come out expressing its displeasure over the parliamentarian's unfortunate comments. As the parliamentarian was a cousin of the business tycoon that owns Derana, the channel seemed in a hurry to disassociate itself from the parliamentarian's views. "We at Derana, " the channel went on to say, "have always stood for a multicultural Sri Lanka and a world, and has consistently treated Hilter and his ideologies to be the greatst threat to the humanity. And Derana will never support anyone with an iota of Hitlerian attributes in Sri Lanka or anywhere in the world. "

* The most poignant statement against Amunugama came from another Amunugama. He is none other than Dr. Sarath Amunugama, a Sorbonne educated retired politician and an excellent writer. After all, he was indeed the one who systematically groomed younger Amunugama, the Nazi one, in politics. Deeply shocked senior Amunugama appeared on a national TV channel(Derana) to denounce his political progeny's stupidity. Usually eloquent Dr. Sarath Amunugama had constant difficulty in finding words to express his sadness about Dilum's political views, but managed to state clearly that Sri Lanka does not need a Hitler or anyone in that ilk.  He went onto imply the following: His celebrated education,- formative years at Trinity College, four years at the university of Ceylon,  PhD in Sociology,- all his reading and writing, experience at the United Nations, and his self-portrayal as a Kandyan elite all have come undone by a minute of stupidity of his political successor…

* These kinds of statements continue to be issued, I have only cited a few.

Sorry people nothing of this sort has happened yet. I just imagined today to be the first of April.
